New Technique....

Hello friends!

I've got a new project today that features a really cool technique! See those flowers on the background? They look like rub-ons, don't they?
Well, they're not!  I saw a picture of a card on a blog I like to check out every once in a while, and for the life of me I  could not figure out how she created it.  Oh, happy day when I went back and saw that she posted a video tutorial on how to do it!  I'll put the link on the bottom of this post so you can check it out too!
Here it is close up.  Isn't it so pretty!  This is the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I used Whisper White Craft ink and a VersaMarker.  SO easy, but has a huge WOW factor.  The white ink just pops!
Here's a close up of the punched flowers.  I used a VersaMark ink pad and clear embossing powder and then punched them out with the new Blossoms punch.  Love, love, love this paper too.  It's the Everyday Enchantment out of the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  So cute, all the tiny detail in it.  See the cute little blue flower on the right?
Matches this CUTE little brad.  Also here is a really close look at the flower background as well.
Give it a try.  It's really simple to do, and looks great!
When you do, send me a picture.  I'd love to see your projects!

Gift Wrap

I thought I'd share what I was working on last night....

Shelby and I have a birthday party to go to tonight, and I got a little creative with wrapping the gift.

I used 2 inch strips of Stampin' Up! fabric to create rolled fabric flowers.  This is the Candy Cane Designer Series Fabric.  I never really thought it looked all that Christmassy before.  Looks pretty cute on a B-day present.

Here it is just a little closer.  The leaves are Wild Wasabi paper cut with circle punches. I like the frayed edges of the fabric.  I made a little snip at the edge of the fabric and then ripped it to make the strips, that's how you get the frayed edges.  You can also pull a string or two.

And here's a close up of the card.  The "e" is the birthday girl's initial.  I love monograms, I think they are super cute.  And little tiny cards like this are sometimes more fun that regular sized ones.  This card is 3 X 3.  I refer to that size as a "love note"  <3
supplies:
fabric: candy cane designer series fabric
paper: real red, wild wasabi, baja breeze, whisper white, pretty in pink cardstock
tools: Big Shot die cut machine, perfect polka dots embossing folder,
bigz alphabet simple letters die, scallop edge border punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch
accessories: real red satin ribbon, white bakers twine, dimensionals
other: hot glue gun

Here's a gift I did last month for another little friend of Shelby's...

I forgot to take a picture before we left the house, so here it is on my lap in the car!  Ha ha!

I made the pinwheels with double sided Designer Series Paper and a jumbo brad and put them on wooden skewers.  For the card I used the pinwheel stamp from the "Sweets for the Sweet" set from Stampin' Up!

A little closer.  I wish I had taken better pictures of this one, like a close, close up of the card.  Next time!
supplies:
stamps: sweets for the sweet, happiest birthday wishes
ink: rich razzleberry, pumpkin pie, melon mambo, daffodil delight
paper: pumpkin pie, rich razzleberry, melon mambo, whisper white cardstock
Designer Series Paper is retired :( boo!
ribbon: pumpkin pie 1 1/4" striped grosgrain, crushed curry polka dot ribbon (retired. sorry!)
accessories: 5/16" jumbo brads neutral, regular (3/16") brads neutral
tools: simply scored, 1/16'' handheld punch, scallop edge border punch,
designer label punch, scallop oval punch, paper snips
other: glue dots, dimensionals

And here's a card I made for a friend of Sean's.  He had an Angry Birds themed party at a trampoline place.  SO fun!  Sean drew an Angry Birds scene on the white wrapping paper and we put the card on top of it.  I took a picture of his drawing, but I cannot find it :(
Here's the card anyways.  Lots of fun to make!

supplies:
stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes, wood grain background, extreme elements
ink: whisper white craft ink, basic black, early espresso
paper: marina mist, whisper white, crumb cake, basic black, pear pizzazz,
early espresso, real red, daffodil delight, old olive
punches: 1/2" circle, 3/4" circle, 1 3/4" circle, 1" circle,
owl builder, cupcake builder, ornament, pennant builder, bird builder,
scallop edge, itty bitty punch pack
other: white embossing powder, heat tool, dimensionals, black journaling pen

So, you can see, it's pretty fun to decorate packages beautifully.  Much more my style than printed paper and plain ribbon.  You can really let your creativity take over this way.  Fun fun fun!

Have fun decorating your packages!!!
